1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Nora ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify you of significant changes through the App.
2. Description of Service
Nora is a personal wellness application that helps you log symptoms, mood, and related check-ins, track Heart Rate Variability (HRV) data from Apple Health, practice breathing exercises, keep a personal safety plan, and gain informational insights about your nervous system patterns, some of which are generated by an AI model.
Nora is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any health condition. The App is designed for informational and wellness purposes only.
3. Health & Medical Disclaimer
This is important. Please read carefully:
- All content, insights, scores, and recommendations in Nora are for informational and wellness purposes only. They do not constitute medical advice.
- HRV data, nervous system scores, and symptom patterns are informational indicators, not clinical diagnoses.
- Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making any health-related decisions.
- In case of a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately. Do not rely on this App in an emergency.
- Do not delay or disregard seeking professional medical attention because of anything you read or experience in Nora.
- Parts of Nora, including the Weekly Analysis and the meditation insight, are written by an AI model. AI-generated text can be wrong, incomplete, or poorly judged. It is labelled as AI generated in the App, it is not therapy, not a diagnosis, and not a substitute for professional care, and you should treat it accordingly.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Nora. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
5. Your Responsibilities
By using Nora, you agree to:
- Use the App only for personal, non-commercial purposes.
- Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise misuse the App or its underlying technology.
- Not use the App in any way that could harm yourself, others, or third parties.
- Provide accurate information when using features that rely on user input.
6. Apple Health (HealthKit)
Nora integrates with Apple HealthKit to read HRV, resting heart rate, sleep, active energy, mindful sessions, and State of Mind, and to write back your breathing sessions as Mindful Minutes and, while mood sync is enabled, your daily mood as a State of Mind entry. By granting HealthKit access, you allow Nora to access only the specific data categories you approve. You can revoke this access at any time in your device Settings, and you can turn mood sync off separately inside Nora.
Your individual HealthKit samples are processed on your device and are not uploaded to any server. The single exception is the Weekly Analysis feature, which sends a condensed weekly summary derived from that data, such as an average and a percentage change, to our analysis service so the summary can be generated. Raw readings are never sent.
Nora does not use HealthKit data for advertising, marketing, or other use-based data mining, and does not disclose it to third parties for those purposes. Our Privacy Policy describes exactly what is sent and to whom.
7. In-App Purchases
Nora may offer optional premium features through in-app purchases ("IAP"). All purchases are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple's Terms and Conditions. Nora does not store or process your payment information.
All purchases are final. Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policy. We reserve the right to modify, discontinue, or introduce new paid features at any time with reasonable notice.
Users who had access to a feature before it became a paid feature will retain that access at no additional cost, for as long as they continue to use the App.
8. Privacy
Your use of Nora is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the App, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of Nora, including but not limited to design, text, graphics, code, and the Nora name and logo, are owned by the developer and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the App without prior written permission.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
Nora is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:
- Fitness for a particular purpose, including any health or medical purpose.
- Accuracy, completeness, or reliability of health data, HRV readings, scores, or insights.
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation of the App.
- Compatibility with all devices or operating system versions.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use Nora, including but not limited to:
- Loss of data or personal information.
- Any health outcome, injury, or harm, physical, psychological, or otherwise.
- Decisions made based on information or insights provided by the App.
- Interruption or cessation of the App's services.
In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the developer from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in connection with your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the App.
13. Third-Party Services
Nora integrates with third-party services including Apple HealthKit, Apple CloudKit, Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config), Cloudflare AI Gateway, and Anthropic's Claude API, which generates the Weekly Analysis and the meditation insight. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or content of any third-party services.
14. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to Nora at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, the developer, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.
15. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Turkey.
Nothing in this clause limits your rights under applicable mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence.
